The destination and its castles can be visited all year round.

Visit the castles of the Loire Valley in season

Transport solutions are available to visitors, more or less dense depending on the season. We also suggest travel modes that you would not have thought of, such as cycling or rent a car with a driver.
 

From April to November, 2021, the services are regular, you can fully enjoy your days.

 

Chambord, Cheverny and Beauregard

These castles are located 10/20km from each other. A special shuttle bus named "Châteaux Rémi" is available from Blois bus station (SNCF car park).

Price: 3€/climb, take some in the bus (CB and cash accepted)

Bus equipped with a bicycle trailer (our advice: go by bike and come back by bus).

Chaumont-sur-Loire

The estate of Chaumont-sur-Loire and its festival of gardens are served by train (Onzain-Chaumont-sur-Loire station) and by the Azalys bus from Onzain station.

If you take the train from Paris or your place of residence, at Onzain station a shuttle bus takes you to the Chaumont-sur-Loire estate (possible by foot more than 2km walk, crossing the Loire).

Visit the castles of the Loire Valley in low season

From November to March, the main castles, open all year round, are served from Blois-Chambord station. If you plan to visit several castles per day, opt for car rental with or without driver. Buses or trains allow only one visit per day.
 

Chambord

Château de Chambord is located 18km from Blois-Chambord station.

Cheverny Castle is located 15km from Blois-Chambord station.

Chaumont-sur-Loire

The Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire is located 20 km from Blois-Chambord station and 2 km from Onzain-Chaumont station.

our advice

> Check the day before your departure to make sure that public transport schedules have not changed and that your connections are still good (see SNCF schedules).

> Book your accommodation beforehand as well as bike rentals

> If you rent a car, ask for delivery at Blois station because the shops are not nearby
