Cycling

A country where the bicycle is king!

Getting about on two wheels

Our gentle landscapes are ideal for cycling. With few hills, and none of which are steep, the varied landscapes of the region pass through agricutural plains, forests and of course the banks of the Loire. An original way to visit our beautiful part of the country, and accessible to all.

Ride the 500 kilometers of the Châteaux à Vélo and a section of the Loire à Vélo.

The châteaux by bike

Between Loire and Sologne, far from the madding crowd, escape on the beautiful cycle paths of the Châteaux à Vélo route.

Among the magnificent châteaux of the Loire, nearly 500 kilometers of cyle paths, tracks and country roads have been designed, signposted and made safe for visitors. Whether you're 7 or 77 years old, go at your own pace and as your whims take you, discovering the prestigious sites such as Chambord and Cheverny, as well as the charming Loire villages.

Fifteen planned circuits can be followed, ranging from 8 to 43 km, parts of which follow the Loire à Vélo path, a major cycling lane across France. There are rides designed for families as well as more sporty visitors.

Ask for the free map of the châteaux to guide you - you can download it with an audio commentary.
