Our village
The village of Bracieux is nestled between rivers, forests and ponds. Historically, it grew up at the crossroads of great roads, notably the Chemin aux bœufs, from Orléans to Saint-Aignan. Saint-Aignan, used since the Middle Ages by merchants leading their herds of oxen from Limousin to Paris.

A crossroads, an obligatory river crossing point, a stopping-off place... it's only natural that the village should take advantage of its location to develop an important activity around markets and fairs.
Even today, traditional Thursday markets, arts and crafts markets and antique fairs continue to attract visitors.
A little detour to
Follow in the footsteps of the past, and discover in the streets : the multi-storey market hall, the half-timbered walls, the old water mill, the wash-house, the town hall, the kiosk, the school and its courtyards, the church and the pretty old farmhouses.
Bracieux also offers a high-quality natural environment. The village is surrounded by the Boulogne national forest, bordering the Parc de Chambord, and it's not uncommon to spot a few deer in the meadows beside the rivers. Two picnic and leisure areas welcome walkers: les Prés de l'Eglise and l'Etang de Bel-air with the banks of the Bonn'heure. With several kilometers of accessible riverbanks and two ponds, Bracieux is also a fisherman's paradise.
Stroll along the rivers, discover the bellowing, or hike from Bracieux : it's all possible, thanks to the many signposted circuits (GR ®, GRP ®, Les Châteaux à vélo) available to hikers, cyclists and horse riders, starting from Bracieux.
