A royal Christmas

The Loire Valley castles in the Christmas atmosphere

Enchanting decorations for enchanting castles

December in the castles of the Loire Valley is synonymous with Holidays! The great castles, open all year round, are adorned at Christmas time with their most beautiful finery. A destination to discover with the whole family. From the gardens to the dining rooms of the royal residences, spend an exquisite and timeless moment.

Enchanting decorations for enchanting castles

All year round, the castles themselves are already a dream setting, so how can we not melt when we talk about the Christmas festivities in the Loire castles? We can already see each other as a family as we stroll through the gardens dotted with decorations, thousands of gifts in the vegetable garden of Château de Cheverny, a forest of illuminated fir trees in Chambord, attentions in the rooms of Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, itself dressed in coloured lights from nightfall.

Bring your camera for unforgettable moments.

Animations and Christmas exhibitions in the castles of the Loire Valley

During all school holidays, the children will prepare a programme of activities for you. We have to keep the parents busy, waiting for Christmas and even after! At the Royal Castle of Blois, the exhibition on the dresses of princesses and queens will delight all generations. In the rooms of the castle historical scenes are reconstructed. Come to Cheverny Castle to celebrate festivities full of tradition, with the Lego exhibition on the Renaissance as a bonus.

To continue this osmosis between parents and children, go to the Château de Chambord for a magical tour with decorations and old games. Who knows, in one of the 440 rooms of the castle you may find Santa Claus...

At Chaumont-sur-Loire Castle, nature and art remain at the heart of Christmas decorations, with creative workshops for children in addition.

In Amboise, Château-Gaillard offers you the Christmas of the Orange Trees: Christmas visit of the castle, every day without reservation, workshop reading Christmas Tales at the foot of the Christmas tree every day at 3pm, then magical laser illuminations on the façade of the Château from 5pm.
