A jewel of architecture, dressed in brick and stone, it reflects the large typical houses of Sologne. In 1492, construction work began on the plan of a feudal castle surrounded by moats. Since then, Château du Moulin has preserved the architectural value of a monument of Franco-Italian art.

GUIDED TOUR OF THE MEDIEVAL CITY OF MENNETOU-SUR-CHER 15H30

A few kilometres southeast of Romorantin, the small village of Mennetou is a jewel of medieval architecture. A strategic location on the old trade route from Bourges to Tours, Mennetou-sur-Cher already existed in Charlemagne's time! Fortified in the 13th century under the leadership of the Counts of Blois, the medieval city still proudly stands its gates and defensive towers. The tithe barn, priory and half-timbered houses from the 15th and 16th centuries dot the visitor's itinerary.
