Description

GUIDED TOUR OF THE DUCAL CITY OF VENDÔME 10:00 AM
Passed into the Bourbon family by marriage in the 14th century, Vendôme was erected as a duchy in 1515 by François I. The most famous Duke of Vendôme is certainly Henri IV, son of Antoine de Bourbon and Jeanne d'Albbret, Queen of Navarre. His son, legitimized with his favourite Gabrielle d'Estrées, César de Vendôme, founded the Collège des Oratoriens in 1623, of which Balzac was one of the most famous students. Guided tour of Vendôme, City of Art and History, by an approved guide (in case of celebration during your visit, the Abbey of the Trinity can only be visited from outside).
