Cycle routes in Blois and the surrounding area

Adapting the historic town and its winding, climbing streets is a real challenge. It’s an adaptation that’s particularly appreciated by visitors and locals, who can get to the places they visit and live by bike (or any other soft means of transport).

Parking your bike

All the town of Blois is provided with bicycle parking (arches…) bring a good anti-theft device and take the time to fasten it properly. Do not leave panniers or phones on the handlebars.

To secure your bike stalls are available:

  • Place de la République (Halle aux Grains): a large stall accessible 24/24, €1/day (details)
  • Parvis de la Gare Blois-Chambord (Centre de Blois): a large stall accessible 24/24, €1/day (détails)
  • Mail St Jean (on the banks of the Loire, near the Jacques Gabriel stone bridge): 4 bike boxes for several bikes, bring your padlock to close the door (Localiser).

The bike hire company Détours de Loire also offers a locker for your bikes (€8) and luggage for the day (€5).

At the Blois Tourist Office, luggage storage is available (€5 for the day, to be collected the same evening).

The Loire by bike

This exceptional route, on the banks of the Loire, crosses the destination over 60 km, alternating landscapes from one bank to the other. Much of the route will be on specially prepared tracks or very low-traffic roads. Along the way, you can stop off in Loire villages, visit the Maison de la Loire or take a boat trip.
