Bauzy, a small village of 270 souls, is nestled between Vernou-en-Sologne and Bracieux, a few minutes away from the Château de Chambord, in an area called the "Sologne des étangs". A couple in love with its native region invested its heart and soul to the rebirth of this traditional Sologne building, making sure to respect the memory of the place and the village. The original architecture and style have been preserved. Old beams, cast iron stove, old fireplace, bricks and tiles made of Sologne clay... everything has been done to set the mood. Decorative objects with history and style: Furniture, decor and lighting were meticulously gleaned from local antique dealers and second-hand dealers. As for the tableware items, we called on local craftsmen... So when you sit at your table, you feel as if you were welcomed to an old Sologne inn with its family’s plates, glasses and cutlery…
You will enjoy a regional cuisine based on old-fashioned home cooking and traditional recipes, comfort food without "fuss" that respects the seasons.
Therefore, Le Col Vert team made sure to create menus that put the spotlight on Sologne and Touraine’s local products, most exclusively coming from farmers based within a 100 kilometres perimeter. A "short selected menu" composed of 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts; updated weekly according to our partners’ availabilities
Each autumn/winter Sunday, you will discover our Sunday specialty: a "free-range" chicken roasted on a spit in our fireplace, and served with its homemade mashed potatoes.
When you stop at Le Col Vert, you immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a real inn, go back to the culinary fundamentals, and discover Sologne’s culture and gastronomy!
