Just 3 km from the Château de Cheverny, Troussay, the smallest of the Loire châteaux, is inhabited year-round, and is a mosaic of precious elements of antique décor, inside and out, combined with attractive furnishings. The picturesque Sologne and winegrowing outbuildings house a reception hall for 120 seated guests, a gîte for 14 and a boutique selling regional products, local produce and vintage furniture. The English-style park, with its century-old trees and varied species, is bathed in serenity. A traditional vegetable garden, in place since the 19th century, adds to the charm of the place and its lively, self-sufficient feel. It feeds the family, who have lived here for over 120 years, and their guests. The model henhouse features a range of original and amusing gallinaceous animals.
