    30 km from the campsite, Chateau de Chenonceau is situated on the banks of the River Cher reflecting its majestic silhouette across the waters. Also known as the “ladies chateau”, this famous renaissance palace is also reknowned for its traditional French gardens, “à la française”.

    30 km away from la Grande Tortue, the round towers of Chambord have adopted a mixture of styles from the Renaissance and Middle Ages.

    Just a short distance from the campsite the town of Blois stretches along the Loire. A walk trough the old town, with its narrow streets lined with half-timbered houses, takes you back in time!

    Kawan Village la Grande Tortue is a site for families with plenty to keep children entertained. However 2 evenings a week the bar terrace is transformed into a stage, offering concerts, shows etc for the whole family.

    The Loire Valley is perfect for cycling.
    The area around the camp site offers no less than 300 km of way marked tracks between the chateaux and charming local villages.
    Candé sur Beuvron is on the long distance cycle track ‘la Loire à Vélo’ which crosses France for the west to the east.
    From the site a signposted cycle track takes you to Chaumont, Blois and Chambord.
