UNACCOMPANIED TOUR OF THE CHÂTEAU DE CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE
Set in landscaped grounds, the Château de Chaumont towers forty metres above the Loire. It was once owned by Catherine de Médicis in 1552 and her rival Diane de Poitiers.
In 1875, it was acquired by the Princes de Broglie, who turned it into a truly princely residence. The tour ends with a visit to the 19th-century stables, considered at the time to be the most luxurious and modern in Europe.
FREE VISIT TO THE INTERNATIONAL GARDEN FESTIVAL AT THE DOMAINE DE CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE
Every year, around twenty teams of landscape gardeners from all over the world present their vision of the theme chosen by the estate. Their expression is often original and unexpected, using flowers, materials, water, trees and foliage. The park is also home to artistic works made from natural materials or that call for the preservation of biodiversity.
