Self-guided tour of Château de Talcy
Although it is a contemporary of the great châteaux of the Loire Valley, Talcy has remained outside in the Italian style. A well, a wine press, a dovecote and a garden that has been converted into a conservatory orchard underline the agricultural character of the estate. The château has retained its 18th-century interior and furnishings. Ronsard fell in love with Cassandra on this Salviati estate, inspiring his famous poem “Mignonne, allons voir…”.
