FREE TOUR OF THE CHÂTEAU DE CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE

Set in landscaped grounds, the château overlooks the Loire by some forty metres.
It was once owned by Catherine de Médicis in 1552 and her rival Diane de Poitiers. In 1875, it was acquired by the Princes de Broglie, who turned it into a truly princely residence.

FREE VISIT TO THE CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE INTERNATIONAL GARDEN FESTIVAL

Every year, around twenty teams of landscape gardeners from all over the world present their vision of the theme chosen by the estate. Their expression is often original and unexpected, using flowers, materials, water, trees and foliage.

VISIT & TASTING AT DOMAINE DE RABELAIS IN ONZAIN

The Domaine Chollet produces AOC Touraine-Mesland, a wine that has benefited from AOC status since 1955.
Winegrowers from father to son since 1720, they own a vineyard on the southern slopes of the Loire, opposite the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire.

The first major site in the Loire Valley, the château presents a veritable panorama of the architecture and history of the châteaux of the Loire. In the courtyard, the chronology of the kings is displayed on the four facades. The colourful and ornate interiors offer a different
the lives of their illustrious owners, such as Louis XII, François I, Henri III and Catherine de Médicis.

FREE TOUR OF THE HOUSE OF MAGIC

Situated opposite the Château de Blois in a large bourgeois house built in 1856, the Maison de la Magie takes visitors on a journey through the history of the magical arts and retraces the surprising life of Robert-Houdin, who was in turn a watchmaker, inventor and magician.
Magic show in the theatre at 11.15am, 3.15pm and 5.15pm: two magicians present an original production each year.

FREE TIME IN BLOIS

The historic centre deserves special attention, because of its royal past. The houses of François I’s relatives are dotted around the town, right up to the cathedral quarter.

SELF-GUIDED TOUR OF THE CHÂTEAU DU CLOS LUCÉ IN AMBOISE

Inhabited by Leonardo da Vinci for the last three years of his life, the château has preserved many of his rooms: his bedroom, his kitchen, his study, etc. It houses 40 of his extraordinary inventions, made using materials of the time: the tank, the first aeroplane, the parachute, etc. The Leonardo da Vinci garden has 20 giant machines on display for you to try out.
