Transport solutions are available for visitors, with varying degrees of density depending on the season. We also suggest ways of getting around that you might not have thought of, such as cycling or chauffeur-driven cars.

IN HIGH SEASON
  • CHAMBORD CASTLE

    All year 2024

    If you’re coming by train, get off at the Blois-Chambord station, right in the center of Blois.

    You can then take a special bus (Rémi line 2) to the Château de Chambord (20km), which runs twice: in the morning and at lunchtime. The bus station is just outside the SNCF train station, on your left.

    You can also take the same bus to the “Château de Blois” stop, near the Tourist Office and the Château de Blois.

    Fare: €3.20/ride, to be taken on the bus (credit cards and cash accepted).

    This bus can carry up to 8 bikes, please reserve by telephone. Our tip: go by bike and come back by bus.

  • CHÂTEAU DE CHEVERNY

    April 1 to November 03, 2024

    If you’re coming by train, get off at the Blois-Chambord station, right in the center of Blois.

    You can then take a special bus to the Château de Cheverny (15km), with a single morning departure from the Blois bus station.

    The bus station is just outside the SNCF train station, on your left.

    Fare: €3.20/ride (cash only)

  • CHÂTEAU DE CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE & GARDEN FESTIVAL

    April 1 to November 03, 2024

    If you’re coming by train, get off at the Blois-Chambord station, located in the center of Blois, or at the Chaumont-sur-Loire/Onzain station.

    You can then take a special bus to the Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire (20km), with a single morning departure from the Blois bus station.

    The bus station is just outside the SNCF train station, on your left.

    This bus will make one stop at the Chaumont-sur-Loire/Onzain station.

    Fares:

    3.20€/journey from Blois to Domaine de Chaumont (cash only)

    1.40€/ride for a trip from Onzain station to Domaine de Chaumont

  • CHÂTEAU D'AMBOISE

    Access by train from Amboise station.

    Allow a 1.5km walk, or 18 minutes, from the station to the château. A beautiful bridge crossing with panoramic views of the château and town.

  • CHATEAU DE CHENONCEAU

    Service is by train. If you’re staying in Blois, the recommended route is Blois>St Pierre-des-Corps>Chenonceaux (1h20 to 1h30).

  • ZOOPARC DE BEAUVAL

    To get to the ZooParc de Beauval (Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher 45km), a special bus is available from April to November from the Blois-Chambord train station.

    The bus station is just outside the SNCF train station, on your left.

    Fare: €3.20/ride (cash only)

    Pay attention to your train and bus connections. Even if it’s only a few minutes away, the bus can’t wait to catch your train.

    If you come by train, get off at the Chaumont-sur-Loire/Onzain station.

    Allow for a 2km walk from the station to the estate ticket office, crossing the bridge to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the village, the Loire and the château.

Other transport

  • Chauffeur-driven cars or minibuses. They can provide transport to one or more castles per day.
  • By bike: weather permitting, rent a bike (available with electric assistance). You can follow the Châteaux à Vélo itineraries. Castles are located 15/20km apart. You can plan your day by visiting one castle a day.
    Ask about bike rental companies.
  • Cabs: ideal for quick trips.
  • Rent a car on site, if you prefer to make the most of your time.
Our tips

> Check the day before your departure that public transport timetables have not changed and that your connections are still good (see SNCF timetables).

> Book your accommodation and bike rentals in advance.

> If you’re renting a car, ask for it to be delivered to Blois station, as stores are not close by.

> If you’re planning to visit several châteaux, you’ll get a discount on bus tickets on presentation of your ticket. For other means of transport, buy Pass Châteaux.
