  • Montpoupon started as a fortified castle in the Middle Ages, and was then turned into a Renaissance-style chateau in the 15th century. Owned by the La Motte Saint-Pierre family since 1857, the chateau has been modernized in the 1920s and is now still a comfortable home of the Loire Valley.
    The chateau can visited almost entirely; living room, private chambers, dining hall, kitchen... and the former stables, in which is held a year-round exhibition on the different types of hunting....
